2016 Toyota Highlander belongs to the third generation model, which has been available since 2014. Like the first version, the third generation debut at 2013 New York Auto Show. The new model is longer and wider than the outgoing generation and its design has changed from its boxy look.

The manufacturer will allow the model to retain the typical SUV design but will add outer details that will make this edition more appealing. This engine type will produce an estimated 270 horsepower and will tolerate 250 pound feet of torque. The second engine option will be a 2.7 liter 4 cylinder engine that will generate 185 horses and will handle 250Nm at the front wheels. A 6 speed transmission system will be availed. Both the engines rare ranked as ULEV meaning that the 2019 Toyota Highlander will be an Ultra Low Emissions vehicle. The top speed for this model will be 188km/h and the engine will need only 10.3 seconds to rocket to the 100km/h mark from the initial point in the latter engine and 8.7 seconds for the 3.5 liter model.
Toyota is yet to make public any information about the specific date of release for the model. This is, however, likely to happen in the course of 2016 or in early 2019. The cost of retail also remains unconfirmed. Experienced car enthusiasts have given an estimate of $30,000 for the base level Highlander while the higher trim level will have an approximate price of $44,000.
