2018 Chevy Blazer Details Model, Judging by what we see here, the wrapped SUV have plenty of similar details as the new Traverse. However, the mule features notably smaller footprint, so it’s quite clear this isn’t Chevrolet’s mid-size crossover. And to it’s not the Equinox neither. When we talk about size, the 2018 Blazer will likely slot between Traverse and Equinox. Now, we can tell you that this could be the biggest rival of Ford’s upcoming Bronco, but this would be a lie. The future Blazer may look robust and off-road oriented, but essentially, it will be just one more crossover.
2018 Chevy Blazer Model Features
The carmaker has no intention to build any body-on-frame SUV, so in contrast to the 2020 Bronco, which will use Ranger’s architecture, the 2018 Chevrolet Blazer will definitely ride on the C1XX, specially made for crossovers. The exterior design appears to have a bit from everything. The prototype features pretty the same profile as the GMC Acadia, while the front end gets Chevrolet’s traditional cues. There are Traverse’s grille and headlights, as well as a bit more pronounced bumper. Around back, the camouflaged SUV features Equinox’s rear hatch with the identical taillights.
2018 Chevy Blazer Engine Performance
Powertrain wise, the base model will likely use a 2.5-liter inline four-cylinder LCV engine. The unit will deliver around 200 horsepower and 191 lb-ft of torque, just the same as the GMC Canyon. A new 3.6-liter V6 engine that powers the new Acadia will be the most powerful option. The mill provides 310 horsepower and 271 pound-feet, which is more than enough for the respectable performance. The engines will be mated to a new nine-speed automatic transmission, which will send the power to the front- or optional all four wheels.
