2018 BMW X7 will be offered with the third row configuration to enable it to compete with other models in its segment. It is rumored to share the same platform with the current X5 and the upcoming X6, but for the X7, the wheelbase will be larger. This upcoming model is expected to feature immense technology never experience before in BMW X series cars. This technology begins with plenty of driving assistance and safety features, and a multitude of luxurious gadgets in its cabin. The new 2018 BMW X7 is said to come in a more modern exterior design. In fact, sources claim that it will be 150 kg’s lighter that the presently launched BMW X5. Other quality light weight materials like carbon fiber and magnesium are expected to be used as well.The new SUV is said to be built at the Spartanburg Plant in South Carolina, U.S.A, alongside its siblings the X3, X4, X5 and X6. Inside, it will be quite spacious with highly luxurious equipments since this is the automaker’s main design point.For the U.S market, the 2018 BMW X7 series will be available with the turbocharged inline six and the V8 gasoline power units. The most likely engine is a 3.0 liter six cylinder and the 4.8 liter V8 generating about 555 horsepower. Other than these engines, a straight-six diesel and a plug in hybrid variant are also highly expected. Furthermore, this new model’s vast parts would also enable the manufacture to offer even more engine options, possibly even a turbocharged four cylinder.Also, 2018 BMW X7 is expected to get six and eight cylinder power-trains while the Petrol-friendly auto markets will enjoy a 400 bhp X7 45i and a 500 bhp X7 55i. Diesel friendly markets will not be left alone, as they will benefit from a four cylinder turbocharged engine. As for transmission, there will be a nine speed gearbox which will help in reducing fuel consumption. The all wheel drive system will be available as standard while all available engines will be mated to an eight speed automatic transmission.
