2016 Volkswagen T-Roc, The new T-ROC is still a concept and many things may change from what we have seen at the 2014 Geneva Auto Show. It may borrow the design concepts from the VW Tiguan and, although both sharing the same Golf MQB platform, it will be smaller than the Tiguan. It will also feature a standard 3 door version, while some rumors state that the 5 door version might be available as an option, which would be a nice refreshment. Beaing in mind the fact the it will be based on MQB Golf platform, it may inherit some of the engine options from the VW Golf, as well. The base model may come equipped with a 1.4 liter turbo TSI, that delivers 140 HP, with a maximum torque of around 180 lb ft. Other options might include the 1.6 liter diesel with 105 hp and a maximum torque at around 200 lb ft, while the second diesel option will be a slightly more powerful 2.0 liter diesel, which delivers 140 HP, with a max torque output of 220 lb ft. As far as the fuel consumption is concerned, it is expected to be about 5 liters per 100 km regarding the diesel variants and a little more for the petrol option – around 6 liters per 100 km.
