2016 Volkswagen Golf R 400, The first thing that comes into view on the new Golf R 400 is the beautiful lemon yellow stripe that stretches out across the entire grille, all the way to the end of each headlight. Other hot hatches in the VW gamut have the same line, only in different color – for example, the Golf GTI has red, while the R has gray. Even in nature, bright yellow color signals a danger in some way, here, the signals are the same – it tells you to watch out for this bad boy. Compared to the “regular” Golf R, the R 400’s fascia looks way more aggressive. The redesigned front bumper on the new R 400 gives the new model a strong, sharp and muscular look, with insanely cool, carbon fiber rimmed air intake openings on the front bumper. The headlights are kept the same, but with the “R 400” written on the side, that is not a problem. The back of the car now features a new spoiler on the top and beneath the rear bumper, which are both part of the new aerodynamics pack, to keep the car on the ground at higher speeds. The new R 400 kept the original suspension system, inherited from the Golf R. It is slightly wider than the R model, in order to accommodate slightly bulkier wheels.2016 Volkswagen Golf R 400 interiorAwesomely looking leather coated steering wheel, with lemon yellow stiching, yellow gague pointers, leather coated shifter with a yellow thread, accompanied by black enterior with glossy black and carbon fiber elements on the dashboard, door panels and central console make the new Golf R 400 any man’s dream. Apart fron that, however, the layout and interior design is inherited from the Golf R.2016 Volkswagen Golf R 400 engineThe 2016 Volkswagen Golf R 400 engine is a beast. Rated at 400 horsepower (for now) @ 7200 rpm, with a maximum torque of around 332 lb-ft @ 2400 rpm the Golf R 400 is capable of rocketing from 0 to 60 in just 3.9 seconds. The engine is accompanied by a 6 speed dual clutch automatic transmission system. It also inherited the Golf R’s Haldex 4MOTION AWD system. With a maximum top speed of around 174 mph, it is not that far away from a supercar.
