2016 Nissan Pathfinder features a slightly redesigned exterior with a moderately fresh appearance. It is likely to be based on Nissan’s D platform. The automakers shall use aluminum for its body to enable this model to shed off its weight to 4,200 pounds. Its grille is slightly larger with rounded edges which reduce its rough and full-bodied appearance. This new model has also been provided with a strengthened rear end bumper and an extra tail gate. It also features aluminum wheels and the best rear spoilers. However, some minimal improvements will be made to these features to make the 2016 Nissan Pathfinder more modern. Its interior is quite roomy with enough space to accommodate seven adults and enough leg room as well as ample storage space. The automaker has also included high tech instrumental panel, a panorama dual moon roof and an all round view monitoring system that offers a 360 degree visual image of the adjacent area. Other features expected in this fourth generation model include an 8 inch LCD display, Nissan’s navigation system, satellite based radio and weather updates and a DVD monitor for rear seat passengers. This auto also comes with a voice recognition system integrated into the satellite based navigation system. Still on the interior features, there will three zone automatic climate control, audio system featuring 13 speakers and also keyless entry with start-stop push button.2016 Nissan Pathfinder comes with new and strong engines for better performance. Under its hood, it gets a 3.5 liter DOHC V6 engine with 24 valve paired with a Xtronic CVT. The engine is able to deliver 260 horsepower and 240 lb-feet of torque. Since the Pathfinder is specially made to be driven on all kinds of terrain, the automaker is offering both the all wheel drive and the two wheel drive variants. Its fuel consumption is rated at 20 mpg city and 26 mpg highway using the front wheel variant, and 19 mpg city, 25 mpg highway using the all wheel drive. This model will accelerate from zero to sixty mph in about 8 seconds.A hybrid model might be offered and the expectations are that it will be combined with a 2.5 liter inline 4 gasoline engine and a 15 kW electric motor. The lithium-ion battery shall be installed under the third row seat and it will not affect the interior space.
