2015 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk , The new Trailhawk is powered by either of two engines – a 2.4-liter engine and a bigger 3.2-liter engine. The former, also known as the Tigershark engine, is capable of producing 184 horsepower and 171 pound-feet of torque. The larger engine, also called the Pentastar, can produce 271 horsepower and 239 pound-feet of torque.The Tigershark engine is rated to perform at between 19 and 22 miles per gallon in the city and between 25 and 31 miles per gallon on the highway. The larger Pentastar engine performs at between 18 and 19 miles per gallon in the city and between 25 and 28 mpg on the highway. Regardless of which engine option you choose, it will be paired with a new 9-speed automatic transmission which is capable of routing power either to the front wheels in case of a two-wheel drive vehicle or to each of the four wheels on a four-wheel drive vehicle. Jeep is currently offering three four-wheel drive vehicles including the Jeep Active Drive I and Jeep Active Drive II as well as the Jeep Active Drive Lock. The first named is the simplest option while the second named offers a few more options than the first. The third option includes everything in the second option and adds a few additional features to make the vehicle more capable in difficult off-road conditions.
