Welcome to Raiacars.com, The next review about 2015 Ford Focus Electric from Ford cars. Let's see more specification, concept and review details for this cars below.
2015 Ford Focus Electric, The car has been released last year in June and since then it outsold most of its competitors quite well. Ford also managed to give it a few updates in terms of computer software in order to make the electric motor even more efficient than it was. The base price of 2015 Ford Focus Electric is only $30,000 and depending on the market the buyer will get the car, the price can drop to around $18,000 thanks to Government grants or rebates offered by Ford. A new model is also expected to come some time in 2017 but until then, this model is going to be the only fully electric Focus on the market.Unlike a conventional car, the 2015 Ford Focus Electric features a tiny electric motor which is good for around 142 horsepower and more than 250 lb-ft of torque which are available from 0 rpm, making it perfect for a busy city or short commutes. The engine is actually water-cooled and so is the battery pack in order to make the car ready for any climate out there. The power is sent only to the front wheels via a single speed gearbox so the 0 to 60 MPH time is around 9 seconds and the top speed is limited to around 110 MPH. While it isn’t that fast, thanks to the massive torque, it feels very fast when compared to some other Focus models.Unfortunately, because it is an electric car, where the boot should be there is a 22 kWh battery which takes up most of the space. There is still room for luggage, but not as much as we would like. Another big drawback of the car is the fact that even though it has a fast charger and it can fully charge in around 3,5 hours, the electricity costs in most fast charging stations is quite high, so in the end, the car will cost around two times more to fill up than a usual petrol powered Focus which is quite a shame.
